first_img Twitter Facebook By Julie Anne Miller – 24th July 2019 WhatsApp Pinterest GAA Borris in Ossory-Kilcotton GAA Club held their annual LJ Drennan memorial tournament on Sunday last, with twelve teams taking part from across Laois & Offaly.After round of group games and semi-finals, the Shield final was battled out between neighbours Abbeyleix and Clough Ballacolla, with Abbeyleix winning out on a 2-7 to 1-2 scoreline.The Cup final was played out, undoubtedly with the two best teams in the competition, The Harps vs Shinrone Ballyskenach, refereed by the legendary Pat Delaney, 20 years after he reffed the first LJ final.After a great game of hurling The Harps won out on a final score of 1-7 to 1-2.After the cup and medal ceremonies, Borris Kilcotton Juvenile Chairman Trevor Moore presented the Borris Kilcotton U12 league winning team of 1999, LJs last team to hurl on, with a commemorative picture & programme.With catering and hospitality for all throughout the day an outstanding tournament came to a close with Owen Drennan thanking all on behalf of the Drennan family.
