As such,employees hired in this capacity are considered at will and do notaccrue property interest in the assignment and are not eligible forbenefits.Representative DutiesRecruit, select, train, and provide work direction to studentassistants and/or tutors; schedule hours, monitor performance,prepare and maintain records including payroll.EMonitor student attendance in labs and Tutoring Center; preparerelated reports; assure policies and procedures are followed.EInterview, assess needs, and schedule students requesting tutorialservices; coordinate with faculty to identify tutoring needs;perform tutorial outreach services.EAssist students and staff in the operation of equipment, runningand debugging programs, retrieving printouts, creating andformatting documents, and using microcomputer applications,copiers, scanners, and printers. Advise and train faculty on use ofinstructional programs for instructional purposes.EProvide instructional support to students including assessing theirneeds and directing them to appropriate instructional materials.EOrient classes and individuals to resources available; demonstrateproper operation of equipment, software and other materials used inthe labs. EInstall equipment in a networked environment; diagnose equipmentmalfunction; and perform preventative maintenance, repair, orupgrades to all equipment. EInstall and trouble-shoot software in a networked environment.EContinually upgrade knowledge and skills as they relate to evolvingtechnologies. EProcess warranty repairs with outside vendors as necessary.EOrder and maintain inventory of equipment and materials.EMonitor budgets of assigned areas and make budget recommendationsas appropriate. EPerform a variety of clerical functions including typing,correspondence, flyers, etc.; requisitioning supplies andequipment; maintaining a variety of records, reports, and files.EPerform related duties as assigned.
